Webmail/Email Transition Center

____________________________________________________________________________

ATTENTION:  YOUR EMAIL ADDRESS IS BEING DISCONTINUED!!

Effective 11/01/2026, Etex will be discontinuing our MagicMail webmail service and all @etex.net email addresses. Any email address ending in @etex.net will no longer function after this date. This includes both email and webmail (Magic Mail) services provided by Etex.  Customers who exclusively use a different email provider and do not use an @etex.net email address will not be affected.

We strongly encourage customers currently using an @etex.net email address to begin transitioning to a new email provider as soon as possible to avoid interruptions to email access, online accounts, and communications.

We also strongly recommend transitioning to Gmail, a free email service provided by Google that is secure, user-friendly, and easy to set up. The Gmail capsule above will take you directly to the Gmail account setup page.

For general questions, please contact Technical Support at 903-797-8324. If you would like hands-on assistance with backing up emails, creating your new email account, exporting messages, updating devices, or transitioning online accounts and subscriptions, our Texpert team is available to help. Please contact Texpert Services at 903-797-8397 for an appointment or click the Texpert tab at the top of the website.

Webmail/Email Transition – Frequently Asked Questions

  1. What is changing?

We are discontinuing our MagicMail webmail service and all @etex.net email addresses. Customers will no longer be able to access or use their @etex email address on 11/01/2026.

A transition window has been provided to allow customers time to move their email to another provider.

  1. What is MagicMail Webmail Service?

The MagicMail Webmail service is the email platform Etex used to provide residential email accounts ending in @etex.net. It stores your messages and allows you to access your email through a web browser or on your devices.

  1. Why is Etex discontinuing their MagicMail webmail service and all @etex.net email addresses?

Email security standards and technology requirements have continued to evolve over the years. Maintaining legacy residential-grade webmail platforms requires increasing security investment and system oversight.

Discontinuing the webmail/email service allows us to focus more efforts on delivering secure, reliable broadband services while reducing long-term security risks.

  1. When will the MagicMail webmail service and all @etex.net email addresses officially be discontinued?

The webmail/email service will officially discontinue on 11/01/2026.

After this date:

  • Mailboxes will no longer be accessible
  • Stored emails and contacts will no longer be retrievable
  • New messages sent to your @etex address will not be delivered

We strongly encourage customers to complete their email transition to a new provider before the deadline.

  1. What do I need to do?

To avoid losing important messages, customers should:

  • Select a new email provider (such as Gmail, Outlook, Yahoo, etc.)
  • Back up or export important emails and contacts
  • Create a new email account
  • Update your email address with banks, medical providers, utilities, subscriptions, and any other online accounts that are important to you
  • Notify friends, family, and business contacts of your new email address

Delaying these steps could result in missed or undelivered communications.

  • Choosing a new provider – we strongly recommend Gmail
  • Creating a new Gmail email account
  • Backing up or exporting messages
  • Updating important accounts and subscriptions
  • Avoiding common transition mistakes

  1. Will Etex automatically move my emails for me?

Customers are responsible for transitioning their own email and backing up their messages unless they engage Technical Support or Texpert Membership Services for assistance.

We provide several helpful resources to assist you in this transition:   https://www.etex.net/webmailtransitioncenter/

If no action is taken before 11/01/2026:

  • You will permanently lose access to your mailbox
  • Stored emails and contacts will not be recoverable
  • Messages sent to your @etex address will not be delivered

We strongly recommend beginning your email transition as soon as possible to avoid losing important information.

If you do not currently have or use an @etex email address, this transition does not apply to you.

____________________________________________________________________________________

  1. What if I have an @etex email address but have not logged into my account in a long time?

Any @etex email address that is inactive for 12 months or longer has already been purged and is no longer accessible.

  1. Who should I contact if I have questions?

For general questions, contact Etex Technical Support at 903-797-8324.

For advanced, hands-on assistance with backing up emails, creating a new account, exporting messages, updating devices, or transitioning online accounts, please schedule an appointment with our Texpert Membership Services or visit: https://www.etex.net/texpert/

14. What happens if Etex’s webmail equipment fails before November 1?

Because Etex is permanently discontinuing its webmail and @etex.net email services, we will not replace costly legacy webmail equipment if it fails during the transition period.  If an equipment failure occurs before November 1, email service could become unavailable earlier than the scheduled shutdown date, and access may not be restored.

For this reason, we strongly encourage customers not to wait until November 1 to transition. Please establish a new email address, update your important accounts and contacts, and back up any emails or contacts you wish to keep as soon as possible.
